Steimle Architects in Building+ Economy

The administrative district of Stuttgart has published 2023 Building+ Economy, Architecture of the Region in the Mirror. The book features not one but two projects by Steimle Architekten that are currently in the planning stage. Fire Station 1 South, which was decided at the end of 2022, is still at the very beginning of the planning phase. In the middle of the Stuttgart Heusteigviertel, the old building in need of renovation is to be demolished in order to integrate a new, contemporary fire department with administration into the historic stock of the surroundings.

Also in focus, the district house in Stuttgart Stammheim. The first work has already started on site for the open community center, which is being built in the immediate vicinity of Stammheim Castle. The traditional gable roof blends in with the typical local architecture. The modern lamella facade with integrated PV modules reinterprets the gable roof house.

Flat roof please!

The visitor center of the Bauhaus World Heritage Site in Bernau was published on Baunetzwissen under the category Flat roof. The seemingly floating flat roof made of insulating concrete is design-defining for the visitor pavilion. The roof structure ensures a durable and robust construction. The 18 cm thick reinforced concrete slab is highly load-bearing, while the embedded steel bracket per column axis provides additional safety. Interested in more detailed information?
