The city of Bremerhaven is holding a competition for the new construction of the North Fire and Rescue Station. A simple, flexible building structure is being developed for the various uses of the new building. Within the building, short pathways ensure rapid deployment. The shape of the building and the structure of the façade reflect the internal organization and the dynamic processes of the fire and rescue service. On the one hand, the building reflects the existing space program, on the other hand, the building structure can react flexibly to changing requirements. On the one hand, the construction and materiality are oriented towards the industrial surroundings and the harbor charm, but the clear grid and infill with trapezoidal sheet metal are primarily subject to the use of the building.
