Steimle Architekten would like to thank you for the nice article in the Stuttgarter Zeitung about the residential buildings of the year 2022. Included was our Half-Long-Charles in Ludwigsburg. A residential development with 18 barrier-free units located at Ludwigsburg railway station. The composition of the buildings creates an enhanced outdoor space and private living areas, so that in the end even our building owners, Strenger holding, moved in there themselves.
The stories surrounding the project name "Half-Long-Charles" are getting more and more bizarre - but to be clear - this is not our architectural jargon ;)
The district of Stuttgart Stammheim has not yet evoked any positive associations, especially outside of Swabia. The city of Stuttgart now wants to change this and, with a competition decided in 2020, is having a forward-looking, sustainable district house built here. The timber hybrid building comes close to its historic neighbour and stands out in contrast to it with its bright PV panel façade. Sustainability is at the forefront of the new district house, which will later house a café and various multi-purpose rooms in addition to an event hall on the first floor. The building owners are paying particular attention to energy efficiency and sustainable materials. In Stammheim, space has already been made to trust the Schlossscheurer to its neighbours.
The team of Steimle Architekten wishes you a peaceful holiday season and a happy new year 2023. We would like to thank you for many wonderful collaborations, building assignments and exciting projects in the past year and look forward to a successful and happy 2023.
Our team was on the construction site for the residential development in Backnang. Together with the TÜV, the black sealing around the basement was inspected. In the meantime, the shell for the ground floor and first floor is also in place. It still looks chaotic at Dresdner Ring, but soon a new residential quarter will be built here.
This year, our Christmas Express went from the market square to St. Moritz - at least that's where the motto of the outfits leads. Accordingly, hikers, skiers, snowboarders and co. celebrated a wild party in the Stuttgart Almhütte. We can only show pictures in small and black and white - but a big thank you goes out to all Steimle employees for this fitting end to the year.
It's a pleasure to be with you!
The visitor centre in Bernau is published in best architects 23. The beautiful illustrated book shows the most current buildings of the year 2023. We are very pleased to be included. It is definitely worth taking a look at the book.
The new sports and festival hall for the town of Wangen is being built in the Allgäu region. The shell was recently completed and the façade elements have already been delivered and installed after sampling.
What's new on the THN construction site?
Most of the excavation pit has been compacted and the paving work in the underground car park can also start soon. Columns and masonry walls are partly in place, so the ceiling above the first floor can be concreted next.
At the end of 2016, Steimle Architekten won the competition for the rescue control centre in Fulda. At the time, with atmospheric visualisations covered in wafts of mist. Now the building is finished and the photographer Brigida González brings the visualisations to life together with the firefighters of the control centre. Here you can see - the making of - with fog machine, fire brigade model and full body effort. An architecture shoot of a different kind. Many thanks to Brigida González for this fun re-enactment.
After an examination of the existing fire station 1 in the south of Stuttgart, it was determined that the old building, which dates back to 1888, could no longer meet the requirements of a modern fire brigade. Accordingly, a Europe-wide competition was held, and the jury under the direction of Jens Wittfoth unanimously selected the design by Steimle Architekten as the winning design. An innovative, inner-city fire station is now being planned for the Leonhardsviertel. The concrete base blends into the stone cityscape. A green terrace level and the wooden construction of the upper floors will be built on top of it. In the inner courtyard, the fire brigade will in future be able to carry out exercises on a multifunctional steel structure.
