The campus extension of the Technical University of Nuremberg will be named the Ohm Innovation Center after Georg Simon Ohm. The technology center houses 12 research facilities and thus represents the growing research activities of the technical university. The new building is the largest research building of a university of applied sciences in Germany and provides space for interdisciplinary work on future-oriented topics. In addition to flexible research areas, rooms for the research group "Autonomous Systems and Intelligent Mobility" and an institute for hydraulic engineering and water management, areas for the LEONARDO Centre for Creativity and Innovation and the Innovation Service Centre, which is the central coordination and service centre for the diverse research activities, as well as areas for university facilities (with computer centre and a cafeteria for local supply) are being built. The planned research areas include experimental halls and workshops, offices, seminar rooms and laboratories.
