The Hotel am Schlossgarten stands like a rock in the surf, patient and calmly observing the construction site activity, waiting for whatever may come.
Work is being carried out on the existing building, and the next construction site for the "Schlossgartenquartier" is slowly taking shape at Stuttgart Central Station. Samples are being taken from the façade to test the reuse of the façade elements. This reveals the interesting choice of materials used in the 1960s.
The Schlossgarten Hotel was probably one of the first buildings to use stainless steel anchors to secure the façade. But it's not just the anchors, which were innovative at the time, that can be seen behind the façade—entire newspapers are also visible. Our architects took a particularly beautiful copy of a Dutch newspaper from June 18, 1966, with them as a souvenir.
Our design for a generational neighbourhood wins third prize in Rottweil!
The new Heerstraße 79 site is an important part of the urban development at the southern entrance to Rottweil. It marks the transition from the urban densification along Heerstraße to the small-scale development in the west, while also creating a new point of identity. The urban development concept is based on openness and
connectivity.

The Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper calls it the “Architecture Oscar,” and for us as architects, it is an award that places particular value on our work. We are therefore delighted about the nomination and our place on the shortlist for the 2025 Nike Architecture Prize with the Markolfhalle on Lake Constance. On September 11, 2025, the official ceremony in Erfurt will announce the selected winners.
Until then, we'll keep our fingers crossed.
You can read more about the Award on the Stuttgarter Zeitung.

More informations and the upcoming events are also on the website available.
It looks like a normal doorway— but this doorway connects old and new, history and modernity—in Stammheim. In the future, this doorway will allow people to enter the new community center from the historic barn. To be honest, it is simply an opening. But for the project team, which works daily with the old barn and the new photovoltaic house, connecting the two projects is a significant milestone. Of course, we have a few more breakthroughs to offer...
The BDA Prize for Rheinland-Pfalz and Saarland was awarded back in November 2024. We have now received the book featuring the nominated works. We are delighted that the Germersheim fire station was among them.
There is no news, buta big thank you to Bela Berec and his team for building these beautiful models for each of our competitions - which we unfortunately showcase far too rarely. Often, competition organizers keep the models and never return them to the office due to lack of space. However, we made room for this magnificent model from the W&W Areal Ludwigsburg competition. The competition kept us busy for months in two phases, and it also challenged Bela Berec's team twice. This lively model not only shows attention to detail, but also captures the vibrancy of the quarter.
A warm and big thank you to Mr. Berec and his team and to many more common competitions!
What is special about the BDA "Nike" award? The jury of highly esteemed colleagues only awards prizes every three years to projects in various categories that have already been pre-selected by the federal states.
The awards are giving in six categories -symbolism, atmosphere, composition, social commitment, innovation and classicism.
Therefore we are particularly pleased to be on the shortlist of "Nike" with our Markolfhalle project.
Thanks for having us !
After our library in Kressbronn had already made it onto the cover of the book "Schön hier" (ISBN: 978-3-7757-5150-6), the model of the library was now also allowed to travel with the accompanying traveling exhibition. The exhibition has now moved on and the model has moved back into our office. But there was still a souvenir photo at the end.
We won 2nd prize in the Fire and Rescue Station I competition in Bonn!
The architecture reflects its use as a public building. At the same time, it shows the community its function as both a helping and protective building. The expression of the building is independent and appropriate for a fire station. The chosen architectural form gives the building a face on all sides.
